High-Quality Generator Installation in Atlanta and Northern Georgia

Outstanding service and customer satisfaction are our top priorities, which is why we take several necessary considerations while planning your home generator installation. We want to provide you with the highest quality results, so here are a few key things we consider before installing your home generator.

Location & Noise Factor

The location of your generator effects the installation operating performance, life of the generator, cost, and your overall satisfaction. As part of our site visit during your consultation, we will map out the best location for your generator. As a turnkey firm, we handle everything: delivery, site preparation, setting the generator, electrical, gas connection, startup, and maintenance. Your satisfaction is our top priority, and we want to offer you a home generator installation that gives you power and peace of mind!

Site Preparation

As part of our site prep, we determine what kind of concrete slab your generator will require. Large liquid-cooled generators above 20kW require a concrete slab due to the size and weight of the unit. For smaller air-cooled home generators, we either use a preformed concrete pad or frame the home generator site area with 4”x6” Grade 1 treated timbers, and fill it with base rock and pea gravel. The rock base helps minimize vibration, noise, keeps the generator cleaner and above any surface water and is more aesthetically pleasing than concrete. We can also provide you with our Premium Pad with concrete and stone construction. The size of your home and its power needs will determine the size of generator you’ll need, which will influence site preparations.

Fuel Supply

In order to run properly and give you optimal performance, your home generator needs an adequate supply of natural gas or propane gas as generator fuel. The closer to the fuel source, the lower the cost to connect the generator. Based on the size of your generator and the size of your home, we will make fuel source recommendations.

Electrical Interface

When installing a home standby generator system, it is almost always more cost effective to be close to your electric service entrance or electric panels. During your free consultation and site visit, we’ll take a look at your electrical interface and recommend the best and most cost efficient option!

GenSpring Power Installation Policy

All aspects of the installation of your new generator system will be done in accordance with the manufacturer’s recommendations and applicable electrical and natural/propane gas codes. We strive to complete the installation of your generator as quickly as possible, sometimes in as little as one day. The time required to complete your specific installation depends on the complexity of the job, the permitting and inspection process, if necessary.

If your municipal or county government policy calls for permitting and inspection, the required permitting steps and the inspection process will add time and cost to the home generator installation. Please be advised that the scope of our proposal is limited to the proper installation of the generator system only. If, upon inspection, the municipal or county inspector determines that because of changes in the code since your home was built that other modifications to non-generator components of your electrical system are required, then we would be pleased to complete these modifications at an additional cost on a time and material basis.

If you have questions or concerns regarding our installation process or permits and inspections, please let us know. We want to give you superior results that comply with all local policies.
